Knights of Columbus

The Knights of Columbus is based on four principles. Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism. We are seen as Catholic men who follow in the footsteps of our savior, Jesus Christ. The organization was originated in 1881 by a group of men from New Haven, Conneticut and was founded by their parish priest Fr. Michael McGivney. They formed this fraternal organization and considered themselves defenders of Country, Family, and Faith, now known as the Knights of Columbus.

To date, the Knights of Columbus has given over 1.3 billion dollars to charities all supported by the Catholic Church. The Knights have also voluntered over 612 Million hours. In order to become a knight one must be 18 years old, male, (single or married) and Catholic. We believe in family and although this is a fraternal organization, wives play an important role to the success of the organization. Parishioners may have seen us around in our red shirts helping at fish fry's,serving a pancake breakfast, or at the Parish Picnic. The Knights also sponsor childrens activities such as soccer shootouts, free throw contests, and Annual Easter Egg Hunt.
