School History:
St. James School opened in September of 1965 with 526 students in grades one
through eight. Sr. Ruth Arnott, OSM was the first principal and staff of three
sisters and eleven lay teachers. In September of 1966, ten more classrooms were
opened. Sr. Alice Kotwick,OSM, became principal in 1971.
On June 17, 1981, St. James Parish gave birth to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish. The school was renamed as well to St. James/Seton with Sr. Suzanne Vandenheede, OSM, as principal. Succeeding principals include Sr. Jackie Thorn,OSM from 1987-88, Mr. Russell E. Finken 1988-89, Dr. Jerry Ryan from 1989-91, and Dr. Barbara Brock from 1991-94.
In September of 1993, the school realized an expansion of six classrooms over the St. James Parish Center. Moving the Junior High to the new rooms made way for the opening of kindergarten in 1994. Mr. Kirk Estee became principal from 1994- 97. Currently the principal position is held by Mr. Terry L. Crum.
